This thread is where you can recommend a good movie for husbands and dads in this community.

"Good" is highly subjective, so just use this rule of thumb:  you would go see it again by yourself, with or without the wife and/or kids.

Think of this as a public service to help others avoid spending a bunch of money on a crappy film. Grin

Since I'm a huge Batman fan, I'd be remiss if I didn't highly recommend The Dark Knight. I've seen it twice and would like to see it again on an IMAC screen.

Alright, it's time to Nerd this place up.

Everybody should watch "Serenity", but I highly recommend Netflixing the "FireFly" TV series to get the backstory of the characters.

It was cancelled after one season, so it's only 4 DVDs worth of stuff to watch, but still a great show!

I just got back from seeing the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Wow, what a great film. It kinda reminded me of Forrest Gump, in a way. A story about somebodys life, and how they chase love throughout their life. Great film.

But one movie that really took me back this year was Changling with Angelina Jolie. I was kinda forced to go see it, because it was my wife's turn to choose the movie, but man, I walked out of there and wanted to watch it again. I even thought about the movie for about two days after seeing it. I would definitely recommend that one.

Of course... I also saw Wall-E about 50 times because my son loves it so much. eh well, anything for the kids, right?

You guys gotta see The Hammer with Adam Carolla. Great boxing flick that is funnier than heck. I saw it on HBO last night and had never even heard of it. Definitely a guy flick.

For a fellow Dad I would recommend Extraordinary Measures.  It's the movie starring Brendan Frasier and Harrison Ford, that has Brendan playing John Crowley.  The movie is coming out pretty soon, it's about Mr. Crowley's crusade to save the life of his kids who have contracted Pompe's disease.  I work for a marketing company that is doing the campaign for the movie and I have to say that the promo materials really have me interested in the movie, especially as a father myself.

Check out the page here it has trailers and stuff:Extraordinary Measures
